We explored group bookings via travel agents. All inquiries resulted in higher prices. Accordingly, you may use your desired platform to book the flights (we recommend booking with the airline directly). We are happy to provide assistance and guidance through the process.

We found Air Transat to offer the cheapest direct flights. We invite you to explore the additional airlines available. Though, note that the majority of the group will be arriving with this flight and the shuttle discounts (see below) may vary for less popular arrival times.

Airports
You can fly to either Liberia or San Jose International airports.
Arriving in Liberia
We did a lot of research and concluded that those flying from Toronto will have the most time-efficient and cost-effective journey traveling to Montezuma if landing in Liberia.
Arriving in San Jose
Traveling from San Jose to Montezuma on-land generally requires a ferry/taxi boat along the way.

Shuttle are available from San Jose or Liberia. The shuttle picks you up either from the airport or your hotel depending on their operating schedule. Please contact Corina and she will arrange the shuttle for you.
Approximate duration: 3 - 4 hours
Take a shuttle from San Jose airport/hotel to Herradura beach. There will be a one-hour taxi boat ride that will take care of your luggage so that you can just sit back and enjoy the view. Arriving at the shores of Montezuma it is a short 10 min walk to the hotel. If you carry heavy bags, they will provide a car to bring your luggage.
Approximate duration: 2 1/2 hours

This would be the fastest way to Montezuma. A quick 25-minute flight from the domestic airport in San Jose/ Liberia plus a short 25-minute taxi ride will get you to the hotel in no time!
You can fly either with Sansa Airlines or Green airways.

Renting a car is one of the best ways to explore Costa Rica and it is highly recommended from personal experience!
However, many car rental companies in CR are not transparent about hidden fees and mandatory insurance. You may book for cheap but then pay extra at pick up. To avoid this, read this article. It breaks down the mandatory and non-mandatory Costa Rican auto insurance, and other important details.

If driving from San José, you can drive down to Puntarenas and catch the Ferry to Paquera (you load the car onto the ferry). The drive to Puntarenas is ~ 1hr 20 min. The ferry ride is ~ 1 hr 15min and from Paquera to Montezuma, it is another 45-minute drive. It is a beautiful ride and the ferry crossing is gorgeous! If driving from Liberia, it is a 3 hr 30min drive, all on land.
